Oasis Care Centre has been blessed with having Chef Virginia at the helm of the kitchen for more than 17 years, preparing on average nearly 300 three course meals per day with the assistance of her wonderful team.
She started her career at the Lord Charles Hotel at the young age of 19 where she learned many skills, one being to make the most delectable eclairs. During the winter months she loves preparing lovely curry dishes and she herself enjoys any kind of roast.
Virginia lives her life with kindness and has an open heart for all the Care Centre residents and patients and she really enjoys making something special for those who need that extra bit of TLC.
Virginia goes home to her 4-year-old granddaughter Iyana, who runs to the gate as soon as she hears her “Umakhulu!” arriving. Virginia says the happy greeting make her forget all about her weariness after a long day of work.
